N.Y. officials rebuke Giuliani after he says Mamdani shouldn’t attend 9/11 memorial

Elected officials are condemning former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani for saying Mayor Zohran Mamdani should not attend 9/11 memorial events this week.

Mamdani said he will attend Friday’s annual reading of the names at the 9/11 Memorial and that his focus will be on the families who lost loved ones in the attacks.

“I’m proud to be the mayor of the city. I love the city. I love this country,” Mamdani said. “And what I want this week to be a focus on is on the families whose loved ones were stolen from them 25 years ago, in the horrific act of terror of September 11th.”…
