GARDEN CITY, Long Island (PIX11) — A man and woman on Long Island had an Italian meal before skipping out on the bill and ending their night by allegedly robbing a Macy’s and assaulting a security guard Wednesday evening, according to police.
The duo’s evening started at Maggiano’s Little Italy in Garden City. Police said the two ate at the restaurant before getting up and leaving without paying their bill.
Around 5:30 p.m., the pair went to the Macy’s on Old Country Road and started to steal items, according to police. The two then left the store without paying for any items, police said. When two loss prevention officers approached the suspects, police said the woman punched and kicked one of the officers.
Police said the man and woman then ran off. Police described the man and woman as being around 30.
