BRENTWOOD, N.Y. (1010 WINS) — Prosecutors announced a 103-count indictment of 31 alleged members and associates of a Long Island chapter of the Bloods street gang on Thursday allegedly responsible for 18 shootings, including the death of a Bronx school teacher .
The alleged members of the Bloodhound Brims were charged with conspiracy to commit murder and other charges in connection to three armed robberies, narcotics sales and possession of 12 illegal handguns used over a three-year span.
According to Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney,
Latique Johnson, the gang’s leader, known as La Brim or The Pilot, Oumar “Dollo” Barry and Jussiah “Lokko” Herbert were among those indicted.
Johnson made orders through proxies while being incarcerated in federal prison in California, Tierney said. Other lower-ranking gang members paid dues into his commissary account, from which authorities seized $31,000, Tierney added.
“If you fire a gun, conspire to fire a gun … If you sell drugs or commit violence to support that activity, you will be held responsible,” Tierney said.
