Police seek suspect who shoved 70-year-old man to ground in Queens subway station

NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — A man is wanted for shoving a 70-year-old to the ground inside a Queens subway station on Thursday, and the NYPD released photos of the suspect on Saturday to aid their investigation.

At 11:40 a.m., a 70-year-old man was near the emergency exit gate on the E line at the Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Avenue subway station in Elmhurst when a stranger pushed him to the ground, police said.

The victim was treated for cuts and bruises to the head at the scene, but refused further medical attention, officials said.

The suspect is described by police as a man in his 40s, and the investigation is ongoing.

Thursday’s attack occurred less than an hour after a tourist was slashed at the Queens Plaza subway station in Long Island City, which was also the scene of an attack on Saturday morning during which a victim was beaten with a metal pipe.
