Evaluation of teachers has been returned to local control after a decade-long fight from educators. Gov. Kathy Hochul signed a bill reforming the Annual Professional Performance Review system. This effectively eliminates the measures that former Gov. Andrew Cuomo fought for to make it easier to find and remove ineffective teachers.
