Suffolk police say 27-year-old William Veitch-Canete was arrested for taking photos of a 10-year-old girl changing her clothes inside a Burlington fitting room
in Commack
on Sunday night. Veitch-Canete was working inside the clothing store at the time, according to police. The 27-year-old now faces a slew of charges including unlawful surveillance in the second degree and endangering the welfare of a child. Residents in the area say they are shocked to hear about the incident. “It’s awful, I feel like people should feel safe when they’re with their families and not have to worry about things like that,” said Jay Kraidman, of Hauppauge. “It’s good that they caught him and hopefully they’ll take more measures in place to prevent that from happening.” News 12 reached out to Burlington for a statement and have not heard back as of Monday afternoon. ”
