Eric Adams is ‘working well through the chaos’: Gov. Hochul

NEW YORK (PIX11) – Gov. Kathy Hochul seemingly endorsed New York City Mayor Eric Adams during the Columbus Day Parade in Manhattan on Monday.

“Told him to bring in new blood… he’s doing that… working well through the chaos,” she told PIX11 News.

Members of Adams’ inner circle have resigned or were indicted as Adams faces federal bribery and corruption charges . Some high-profile exits include First Deputy Mayor Sheena Wright, Schools Chancellor David Banks and Deputy Mayor for Public Safety Philip Banks III.

Mohamed Bahi , a Muslim liaison to Adams, was recently charged with witness tampering and destruction of evidence in connection to the investigation that led to Adams’ indictment. He’s accused of deleting encrypted messages to Adams and telling a businessman to lie to federal authorities about a straw donor scheme, according to prosecutors.

Adams has said he will not resign amid the accusations against him.

“I’ve done nothing wrong. Time will prove that. And people will look back on this moment and say, ‘We’re glad we gave this man the opportunity to do the work he’s doing,’” Adams said on Sept. 30.
