Madison Wells is an independent entertainment company founded by producer Gigi Pritzker. The company, which develops, produces, and funds film, television, audio, and live theater projects is devoted to illuminating voices that are not often heard. Their key mantra is to push boundaries and tell important stories that need to be told.
Madison Wells Live, the theatrical arm of Madison Wells, is making big waves in the world of theater. Most recently, Madison Wells Live are lead producers on the critically acclaimed musical, Swept Away, now playing at the Longacre Theatre.
The show, with music and lyrics by the Avett Brothers, centers around four sailors who are stranded at sea after their whaling boat has capsized. They have to make devastating choices in order to survive. “The show presents a unique perspective on common life questions and the choices we make that shape our paths,” says Madison Wells Live executive producer, Jamie Forshaw.
In addition to Swept Away, some of the company’s other producing credits include Jaja’s African Hair Braiding, Hadestown, Shucked, Company, We Live in Cairo, and the upcoming The Thing About Jellyfish. Both Pritzker and Forshaw are both quick to point out that they are devoted to bringing great stories to those all around the nation to see shows that deserve to be seen by as many people as possible.
