Delta kicks off seasonal direct Palm Springs-New York flights

The first flights on Delta Air Lines’ new weekly route between Palm Springs and New York took to the skies over the weekend — just in time for desert dwellers looking to make a last-minute pilgrimage to see the famous tree at Rockefeller Center.

Delta announced that it would be launching a seasonal Saturday-only direct service between Palm Springs and JFK Airport last August, just weeks after JetBlue said it would not be resuming its own seasonal service between the two airports this year.

That announcement initially left Alaska Airlines as the only airline offering flights between Palm Springs and JFK, with those flights occurring daily in the winter and spring months.

When are the flights?

The Palm Springs-bound Delta flight will depart from JFK at 8:45 a.m. on Saturdays and arrive in Palm Springs at 10:50 a.m. (there is a three-hour time change). The same plane will then depart from Palm Springs at 12:50 p.m. and arrive at JFK at 8:35 p.m.

How long is the season?

The weekly flights are scheduled to continue through May 3, 2025. Delta has not announced if it will continue the route in the future.
