ALBANY — Pressure is mounting on Gov. Kathy Hochul to call for the resignation of New York City Mayor Eric Adams or use her executive powers to remove him from office as other top Democrats demand that he step down.
That includes Lt. Gov. Antonio Delgado, her second in command. He called for Adams to resign Thursday night in a high-profile split from Hochul. Delgado explained that decision Friday during a rare news conference at the state Capitol.
“I think the first step is to call for the resignation,” Delgado said. “That is the most important way to proceed at this moment, give him a chance to think about the best way forward.”…
