Gov. Hochul heads to NYC for meetings after 4 deputy mayors resign

NEW YORK (PIX11) – New York Gov. Kathy Hochul is holding meetings on Tuesday in New York City as calls grow for Mayor Eric Adams to resign from his position.

She’s set to meet with City Comptroller Brad Lander, City Council Speaker Adrienne Adams, Rev. Al Sharpton, House of Representatives Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and Queens Borough President Donovan Richards, sources told PIX11 News. The meetings come after four deputy mayors stepped down from their positions on Monday amid allegations that the Trump administration may be exerting influence over City Hall.

Deputy Mayors Maria Torres-Springer, Chauncey Parker, Anne Williams-Isom and Meera Joshi called their decisions “difficult” in a statement and said they came in light of “the extraordinary events of the last few weeks.”…
