Assemblyman Billy Jones given key to Canadian Consulate

NEW YORK CITY | On Thursday evening, Assemblyman Billy Jones (D-Chateaugay Lake) was presented with the Key to the Consulate by the Consulate General of Canada in New York. The recognition comes for the work the Assemblyman has done as chair of the Task Force on New York Canada Relations, the first of its kind in the nation.

“I am so thankful to the Consulate General Tom Clark and all of our Canadian neighbors,” Jones said. “This is a very special moment for me and the rest of the North Country that understands the significance of maintaining and strengthening our cross-border relationship.”

The inaugural distinction is presented to individuals in recognition of their “extraordinary accomplishments in their fields of endeavor and outstanding contributions to the friendship between Canada and the United States.”…
