New York weather: Summertime-like heatwave finally here after mixed temperatures

Spring has gotten off to a rocky start in New York as the region has been hit by a weather rollercoaster over the last month.

On several occasions it seems as though it may finally be time to put away those winter coats, only for temperatures to suddenly plummet again as some areas experienced freezing conditions and even some spring snow. Temperatures are finally rising again but this time New Yorkers are set to avoid the weather whiplash as it appears that the warmer weather will finally stick around.

The rest of the week will see above-average temperatures and mostly sunny conditions. Unfortunately, the dry spell will come to an end later in the week, making way for a thunderstorm, but that will quickly come to end and as mild conditions make a comeback next week.
