A special weather statement was released by the National Weather Service on Friday at 4:39 a.m. until 9 a.m. for Suffolk and Nassau counties.
“Patchy dense fog is expected this morning through 9 a.m. on Long Island. Take it slow on the roadways and use your low beam headlights, even during daylight, to ensure visibility and safety among other drivers on the roadway during your morning commute. Reduce speeds when visibility is low,” says the weather service.
