New York, NY – Skies across New York turned noticeably hazy Tuesday morning as wildfire smoke from Canada drifted over the region, creating a milky appearance across much of the state.
According to the National Weather Service in New York, satellite imagery between 9:31 and 10:26 a.m. showed no clouds in the area, but a visible layer of smoke aloft due to ongoing Canadian wildfires. The smoke is expected to remain elevated and not reach ground level, meaning air quality will likely stay within healthy ranges for most residents.
