New York state Assemblymember Zohran Mamdani is gaining momentum in his uphill battle against former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo to become New York City’s next mayor.
With just two weeks remaining until the city’s primary, prediction market Polymarket now gives Mamdani, a Democratic socialist, a 34 percent chance of winning—nearly double the 18 percent he held on June 9, shortly after receiving an endorsement from Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. However, his support has dipped from a peak of 42 percent on June 12.
Cuomo remains the frontrunner on the platform, with 65 percent predicting he will win. That marks a decline from 82 percent on June 9. Every other candidate is currently projected to win by 1 percent or less…
