NY weather update: Severe thunderstorm warning for part of New York expected to expire at 4 p.m.

The warning was active for the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan and Queens as well as Nassau and Westchester counties.

“The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe limits, and no longer poses an immediate threat to life or property. Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire. However, gusty winds and heavy rain are still possible with this thunderstorm,” according to the National Weather Service.
