The heat wave has arrived.
Temperatures and humidity are climbing as the tri-state heads into an expected record-shattering heat wave, where it could feel like 100 degrees or hotter through Wednesday.
Central Park already had a heat index in the 90s by 8 a.m. Monday (Newark Airport was at nearly 100). At a graduation Monday in Paterson, New Jersey, eight people had to be taken to local hospitals as a precaution over potential adverse heat-related health effects. Another 50 people were evaluated on site, officials say.
Tuesday is even hotter, with records likely for many. It looks like it’ll be the hottest air temperature we’ll have seen in Central Park since 2012.
