The race to win one of Manhattan’s casino licenses intensified today, as the team behind Caesars Palace Times Square announced a $5 million pledge to fund a new sexual health center in Hell’s Kitchen and support existing Callen-Lorde services in Chelsea.
Earlier this month, the other West Side bid from Silverstein Properties revealed a star-studded lineup of food partners for its Avenir casino proposal on 11th Avenue and W41st Street, including Danny Meyer, Stephen Starr, Empanada Mama, Don Antonio and local sommelier Yannick Benjamin.
Now, the Times Square bid is responding. Today, Caesars Palace Times Square — the proposal from SL Green, Caesars Entertainment and Roc Nation — announced a $5 million commitment to Callen-Lorde Community Health Center, including plans for a new Center for Excellence in Sexual Health in Hell’s Kitchen.
