Solidifying plans to implement the state’s arrival-to-dismissal school cellphone ban, Gov. Kathy Hochul met on Long Island last week with school leaders from Nassau and Rockland counties as well as New York City.
The new distraction-free policy, which was part of the latest state budget, goes into effect on Aug. 1. It will dramatically restrict the use of smartphones in schools across New York.
