BENSONHURST — STORM RISK DAMAGE MITIGATION IN THE NEW YORK-NEW JERSEY HARBOR IS THE FOCUS OF A VIRTUAL PUBLIC INFORMATION SERIES that the U.S. Army Corps. of Engineers will host next Wednesday, July 23, according to a Community Board 11 announcement. The USACE New York District offers these sessions to provide an update on the New York-New Jersey Harbor and Tributaries coastal storm risk management feasibility study. The identical July 23 sessions, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., will precede the public release the next day of the Draft Integrated Interim Response Feasibility Report and Environmental Assessment, which identifies proposed actionable elements for near-term coastal storm risk management projects. These sessions will offer an overview of the Draft Report and proposed actionable elements, along with information on how the public can actively participate and provide input during a public comment period running from July 24 through Aug. 25.
