Long Island man conned out of $112K from fake real estate attorney: NCPD

MASSAPEQUA, N.Y. (PIX11) — A man was tricked into wiring over $100,000 to a mysterious person posing as his real estate attorney, according to Nassau County Police.

The 28-year-old victim had been emailing with someone whom he believed was his real estate attorney to pay them for closing on a property on Monday, police said.

The man wired approximately $112,000 to a bank, according to police. Shortly after, he received an email from his real attorney saying the previous emails and payment requests were not from them and were from an unknown subject.
