STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The New York Police Department is warning New Yorkers on social media about a new phone scam. Earlier this week, the department posted on X and Instagram, stating that there are individuals who are impersonating staff from the NYPD Crimestoppers tip line.
“NYPD Crimestoppers will NEVER contact you or ask for your personal information,” the post stated.
