Old Farmer’s Almanac predicts winter wonderland for tourist hotspot this Christmas

The Old Farmer’s Almanac is here, and while the country is just now slowly transitioning into fall and the colder months, the publication is warning that one state may have a “wild” winter ahead.

Depending on where you live in New York, you may have to brace for precarious temperatures and pummels of snow when winter is in full force.

Some regions in New York, particularly central New York and the Southern Tier, are expected to see a colder-than-normal winter. Meanwhile, other parts of the state, including western New York, the Capital Region, Adirondacks, Hudson Valley, and New York City/Long Island, will likely have a milder-than-usual season.

For cities like Ithaca, Binghamton and Elmira, the Appalachian Region of the Empire State, the Almanac predicts that temperatures will be colder-than-usual during the winter, with snowfalls being below normal. For that area, late December, late January, early-late February and mid-March will be the snowiest periods…
