The New York State Thruway Authority has scheduled what seems to be an unprecedented E-ZPass Outreach Event. Its purpose is “to provide personalized customer service to individuals regarding their E-ZPass and Tolls by Mail accounts.” The event will take place over two weekdays, the afternoon of September 29 and the morning of September 30, at the Western New York Welcome Center in Grand Island.

Currently, the Thruway Authority has more than 3.4 million E-ZPass account holders with 6.6 million tags. It offers Tolls by Mail customers several ways to make a payment, including via mobile app, telephone call, or mail, as well as in cash at select retail locations. The authority notes that non-E-ZPass customers “can sign up to receive a text message when their toll is available to pay or by dialing **826 from most mobile devices to receive a text message with a link to the E-ZPass NY website and information on how to pay their toll bill.”

The authority’s event announcement includes tips on E-ZPass account maintenance…
