BROOKLYN NAVY YARD — A dual celebration took place as Judge Barry Kamins was honored for his distinguished leadership, scholarship and steadfast service to justice by the New York Bar Foundation (NYBF), which celebrated its 75th anniversary.
The Leadership Laureate Series reception took place the evening of Thursday, Sept. 18, at the Brooklyn Navy Yard. It was co-chaired by NYBF President Hon. Cheryl Chambers, Anthony Vaughn Jr., Esq. and Hon. Margaret Finerty.
Vaughn described Kamins as “one of the pillars of our bar upon whose shoulders we stand.”
Hon. John Hecht called Kamins his mentor. “I was his court attorney for a year about 16 years ago, and I learned so much. It was an unforgettable experience.”
