CONEY ISLAND — The iconic Coney Island staple Deno’s Wonder Wheel Amusement Park, which attracts millions of tourists every year, has officially been added to the New York State Historic Business Preservation Registry.
The news was made official at a press conference inside the park, the afternoon of Sept. 29, spearheaded by Sen. Jessica Scarcella-Spanton, D-23, following her nomination.
The registry, created in 2022 by the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP), honors businesses that have operated for more than 50 years and are headquartered or founded in New York State.
