NY weather update: Coastal flood statement issued for Nassau County until early Tuesday evening

An updated coastal flood statement was issued by the National Weather Service on Tuesday at 5:31 a.m. in effect until 5 p.m. for Nassau County.

The weather service states to be ready for, “Up to one foot of inundation above ground level in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline. High surf and minor beach erosion on the ocean shoreline.”
