Broadview’s holiday programs bring cheer to NY families

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -Employees of Broadview Federal Credit Union purchased, wrapped and delivered more than $250,000 in gifts for nonprofits across the state to give to families in need. Presents from the Holiday Sharing program included everything from board games and a bicycle to diapers and paper towels.

“I used to get out that wish list book and write all the things down that I wanted for the holiday,” recalled Kathy Lanni, chief community officer. “And nowhere on there was a mop. I think it’s really important to understand that not all of these items are toys. Some of them are the very basic needs for people.”

Nonprofits requested record-breaking help this holiday season compared to the program’s previous years. The SEAT Center is one of them, receiving soap and other necessities for its young adults working on employable skills. “This specifically allows our students to have moments of beauty and family that comes into their life with the SEAT Center and with the community,” described Sharon Phillips, the corporate services administrator…
