Two New York locations sell $1 million Powerball tickets; jackpot grows to $1.7 billion

No one won the $1.59 billion jackpot in Monday’s Powerball drawing, but two tickets sold in New York matched five numbers to claim $1 million second prizes.

One winning ticket was sold at a newsstand at 45 Pine St. in Manhattan (near Wall Street). The second million-dollar ticket was purchased at a Shell gas station at 100 W. Merrick Rd. in Valley Stream, Nassau County.

The two New York winners were among nine $1 million second-prize winners nationwide. The other winning tickets were sold in Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Wisconsin…
