Latest snow map shows higher totals from incoming winter storm set to impact travel

The forecast is trending a bit higher for snow totals compared to just 24 hours ago. Our low pressure system will bring in fast snowfall rates of 1-3” per hour across a swath of New York City into western Connecticut and Hartford between 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. Friday night.

Meanwhile in Boston, the steady snow picks up after some ocean-effect bands begin this evening.

Heavy snow rates of 1-3” per hour will fall across New York State into western Connecticut with 3-6” of snow accumulation already possible by midnight.

Boston won’t see accumulation starting until after 10 p.m., though sneaky ocean-effect snow bands will bring in some pre-storm snowfall around the coast and southeastern Massachusetts…
