On Thursday at 6:31 a.m. a snow squall warning was released by the National Weather Service in effect until 7:15 a.m. for Nassau and Suffolk counties.
“At 6:30 a.m., a snow squall was located along a line extending from 7 miles northwest of Port Jefferson to near Brentwood to Jones Beach, moving east at 55 mph,” describes the weather service. “Travel will become difficult and potentially dangerous within minutes.”
The weather service adds, “Slow Down! Rapid changes in visibility and road conditions are expected with this snow squall. Be alert for sudden whiteout conditions.”…
