New York City, NY – New Yorkers looking ahead to 2026’s eclipse calendar will have a few chances to look skyward, but experts say the most dramatic eclipse views this year will be found west of the state, leaving much of the East Coast on the edge of peak visibility.

According to astronomical forecasts, four eclipses will occur in 2026, including two solar and two lunar eclipses. While New York will see portions of multiple events, timing and geography mean the state will miss the most vivid moments of the year’s biggest eclipse.
