It is a cold weekend for sure but it is a dry weekend. Low pressure is moving off the Southeast US coast today and taking an area of rain out to the east and well offshore so that is not an issue. We continue to see a series of disturbances in the northwest flow from Canada and that brings with it clouds. We will also have some breaks of sunshine in the mix too and high temperatures today will struggle in the upper 20s and lower 30s. The precipitation to the south never gets anywhere close.
Tonight we get another one of those northwest flow disturbances and this will keep us mainly in clouds overnight. There might be some snow showers in the Hudson Valley and into Connecticut overnight and some places could see the ground whitened up nicely. Snow showers might briefly move over Long Island and Northern New Jersey. Most of this happens between midnight and 7AM Sunday. Sunday morning lows will be in the upper teens inland and low to mid 20s everywhere else. Sunday we will see no worse than partly sunny skies. Highs Sunday will reach the low and middle 30s in most places. Temperatures will take a step down Sunday night as a quick re-enforcement of cold air moves in. Lows Monday morning will be in the teens to near 20 degrees.
