The threat of an impending winter storm has led the New York Racing Association to move this coming Sunday’s racing program to next Wednesday.
The move to race on Jan. 28 is pending approval from the New York State Gaming Commission.
In a news release, NYRA cited “a winter storm with the potential to bring significant snowfall and arctic temperatures to the New York metropolitan area on Sunday,” as the reason why it, the New York Thoroughbred Horsemen’s Association and New York Thoroughbred Breeders, Inc. requested formal approval to conduct live racing on Jan. 28 at the Queens racetrack…
