‘Stay indoors’: NY and NJ prepare for the worst amid winter storm warning

NEW YORK (PIX11) — As New York and New Jersey prepare for as much as 10 to 14 inches of snow on Sunday, local leaders are deploying dozens of emergency response teams in preparation for the incoming snowstorm.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning from 3 a.m. Sunday to 6 p.m. Monday, warning of “white out conditions” and hazardous travel.

On Friday, both New York Gov. Kathy Hochul and New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill declared a state of emergency, urging residents to stay home and off the roads unless absolutely necessary on Sunday.
