‘ARCTIC SIEGE’: NYC faces a week of below-freezing temps

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The big winter storm moved out of the Tri-State on Monday morning, but there’s a week of brutally cold weather ahead for the New York City area.

The storm dropped anywhere from 8 to 12 inches across the city, including in Central Park, where 11.4 inches was measured, the National Weather Service said.

Flight disruptions continued at area airports Monday, with over 1,200 flights canceled. On Sunday, more than 3,000 flights were scrapped and LaGuardia Airport temporarily shut down.
