New York Blizzard Snow Totals

The blizzard of 2026 will certainly go down in the record books for New York as one of the biggest. People continue to dig out around the New York City are and lower Hudson Valley, while we here in the Capital Region got lucky this time around. Our snowfall amounts fell on the lower end of the predictions. I think we all breathed a collective sigh after about noon on Monday.

Former WTEN chief meteorologist Steve Capporizzo shared some interesting statistics from the big storm and many areas close to New York, and in New York, got absolutely pounded.

It looks like several parts of Long Island got the brunt of the storm, with Montauk clocking in at 28.1 inches of snow. New York City also didn’t escape the blizzard with a reports 20 inches of snow. LaGuardia airport in NYC reported nearly two feet of snow with 22 inches total…
