First signs of summer warm-up felt across NY, NJ

NEW YORK, NY (PIX11) — After dealing with unseasonably cool conditions over the last two weeks, residents finally saw some welcome warmth arrive in the tri-state area.

Central Park saw an afternoon high of 78 degrees Saturday afternoon, a good seven degrees above normal. It was even warmer in New Jersey, as plentiful sunshine pushed temperatures into the low and mid-80s. Coastal locations were a bit cooler due to an onshore breeze, topping out in the low and mid-70s.

Expect some clouds to filter into the region Saturday night as a trough approaches from the west. Most locations should stay dry, but a shower could develop in a few areas. Temperatures will drop into the low and mid 60s. A few 50s are possible north and west of the city…
