(NewsNation) — Former New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio says current Mayor Zohran Mamdani deserves credit for building rapport with New York Gov. Kathy Hochul to help alleviate the city’s budget crisis.
“He came in with a tough situation that Eric Adams left him.” de Blasio told “Jesse Weber Live” in a Monday appearance. “He had to win real big concessions from the state of New York, which, by the way, I think New York City deserves. New York City is the economic engine of the state. I think for years, we haven’t gotten our fair share. So he managed to have an incredibly amicable, productive relationship with Governor Hochul. That’s an achievement.”
