Hundreds of officers unite in Raleigh for final leg of Flame of Hope Run

Law enforcement officers from across North Carolina took to the streets Friday for the final stretch of the annual Flame of Hope Run, carrying a torch that will help kick off the Special Olympics North Carolina Summer Games.

The run moved through downtown Raleigh, with officers making their way toward the State Capitol for the final leg of the statewide relay.

Hundreds of law enforcement officers from Wake County agencies — including Apex police and Wake Forest police — joined participants from across North Carolina. Raleigh Police Chief Rico Boyce was also among those taking part…
