North Carolina State University is conducted a new study of the state ferry system’s economic impact, asking riders and others about spending, service, wait times and whether ferries are essential to their trips as the state prepares to require tolls on all ferry routes.
At the same time, an advocacy group for Ocracoke is now calling on state lawmakers to delay their mandate for new and increased tolls due to be implemented in 2027.
