Wake County students want more monitoring of school bathrooms, more school resource officers and the installation of weapons detectors, according to a new district survey.
Results of the school district’s student safety and security survey presented on Tuesday showed most Wake high school students reported feeling safe at school. But those results also showed areas that students said should be addressed, including notably improving conditions in school bathrooms.
“We know the students’ biggest concern,” school board vice chair Sam Hershey said at Tuesday’s safety and security committee meeting. “So what is our response? What are our options to improve bathroom safety?”…
