Storms Could Bring Briefly Dangerous Gusts
The National Weather Service says storms will be isolated to scattered, but a few could produce strong to damaging wind gusts as they move through central North Carolina. Rain chances rise from roughly 15% in midafternoon to about 30% later Tuesday, with rainfall generally expected to stay below a tenth of an inch. Storms may continue into Tuesday night before ending around 2 a.m.
Raleigh’s low should settle near 73 degrees under mostly cloudy skies. The formal Heat Advisory issued Tuesday covers Sampson County rather than Wake County, but the National Weather Service still warns that heat illness is possible for people without adequate cooling and hydration.
