SPENCER, N.C. — The North Carolina Department of Transportation’s America 250 locomotive was unveiled today and will be on public display at the America 250 Locomotive Celebration scheduled for Aug. 28-30 at the North Carolina Transportation Museum.
The locomotive, EMD F59PH No. 1776, in regular service will power Amtrak/NCDOT Rail Division passenger trains on the Piedmont Corridor that links Charlotte and Raleigh, N.C.
