RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A North Carolina State University professor who slowly improved his “backyard batches” of barbecue sauce over more than 15 years is rolling out a new sauce with the university, officials said Thursday.
Dr. Chris DePerno, professor of fisheries, wildlife and conservation biology at N.C. State, created his own product called Dr. D’s Original Barbeque Sauce, serving it at gatherings of family and friends, according to an NC State University news release.
