GOLDSTON, N.C. (WNCN) — A Cary man is accused of setting his vehicle on fire after crashing near a propane tank in Chatham County Monday afternoon, the sheriff’s office said.
According to the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 1:30 p.m. to a report of a suspicious person on 300 NC Highway 42 near Goldston.
An investigation determined 42-year-old Matthew Robert Steinle drove his vehicle into a concrete wall protecting a propane tank and set his vehicle on fire by igniting paper he placed in the fuel tank, according to the sheriff’s office…
