Pumps at 40 Triangle gas stations were recently flagged for problems. Here’s where

In recent months, inspectors with the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services found problems at more than 40 gas stations in the Triangle that could harm drivers.

Inspectors with the Standards Division discovered most of the issues during routine inspections, but one problem was found after a consumer complained. The inspections occurred at stations in Durham, Johnston, Orange and Wake counties between May 6 and Aug. 18.

If a pump is “tagged” by an inspector, it is taken out of service. Tagged pumps can’t be used again until a licensed technician puts it back in service. Inspectors revisit pumps after they’re repaired…
