RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Wake County officials are stressing the importance of safely disposing of lithium-ion batteries ahead of a change in state law. Starting December 1st, these batteries will no longer be allowed to be disposed of in landfills.
“They’re almost in every powered device that we have in our household,” said Wake County Fire Marshal Braxton Tanner.
