RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Security preps are underway at the North Carolina State Fair ahead of Thursday’s 2026 grand opening to welcome the hundreds of thousands of expected attendees over the 11-day run.
The chief of security is reminding fairgoers to expect bag inspections and metal detectors at the gates, which were still being set up on Tuesday.
